Steven Orlandi

Steven Orlandi is currently a substitute teacher.  Originally he was not sure what he wanted to do when he graduated from high school.  His mother was a teacher and his grandmother.  He took a few business classes and he realized through substituting that he wanted to be a teacher.  He is certified substitute K-12.  He prefers middle school or upper elementary school.  He likes teaching social studies and science.  He substitutes at a middle school he attended growing up.  He wants to teach science over social studies because there are more interactive things to do in science.  He wants to really challenge students and not just spoon feed them the standards they need to pass the test because they will just memorize it for the test and not really learn it.  He is competitive and wants to have the best class.  He wants his class to stand out and have the best scores.  He wants to teach to where he is not just standing in front of a board lecturing all the time.  He wants them to be able to ask questions and come up with ideas and bounce ideas off of each other. When students have to guess the number of jelly beans in the jar, they will probably be more accurate if they share ideas with other students.
